Here we go...!

Hello - and welcome! Yes, today is the first day of my blog and these are the first words (of many, no doubt) that I’m letting loose on the world. It’s slightly nerve-wracking! Do you have a blog and if so, I’d love to hear how you feel about “putting it out there”. It’s a little intimidating.

I actually don’t know why I should feel nervous. It’s not as though I’ve never published to the world before. I was a digital producer for ABC News for seven years, writing stories under the banner of a major news organisation with page views of more than 100,000 so why am I feeling like this about a piddly little blog?

Anyway, enough of that! You’re possibly wondering why I’d call my blog Letters From Jen. Well, you may as well know it now: I am a mad keen letter writer and correspondent. I have several pen pals around the world, I am a Postcrosser and I’ve recently joined #Penpalooza too. There is almost nothing I like more than to write letters to friends and I’m way more likely to write than to telephone. And because I’m also a history buff, when it came to choosing a banner image, I was very tempted by this funny one from Museums Victoria. Instead, I pulled a few things together on my desk and photographed that (mess?).

As for including letter-writing in your wedding ceremony? Hit me up! I personally believe a hand-written love letter to your new spouse is a perfect keepsake of your wedding day. Why not think about it as an option for your ceremony? I don’t think you’ll be sorry! 💌
